For the past five years, All for Animals has provided humane education classes to local elementary schools in the
Santa Barbara
area. By incorporating stories, games and activities, our Compassion for Critters classes have educated, entertained, and inspired childrenabout the importance of respect and compassion to all living beings. The community as a whole benefits from our humane education program because it helps develop children’s moral character, thus making them less likely to become involved in violence, gangs, and crime.

Beginning in the fall 2010, we are expanding our humane education program by offering classroom visits to even more elementary schools throughout Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito and Carpinteria as well as introducing our new Adopt-a-Classroom program, where the general public can sponsor a classroom and provide a K-6 teacher and his or her class with a subscription to KIND News, an award-winning classroom newspaper, for an entire school year (9 issues).
Produced by The Humane Society of the United States, KIND News features articles, activities, puzzles, and celebrity interviews that emphasize the importance of kindness and help children put basic values like compassion, responsibility and respect into practice. Each issue comes with 28 copies of the newspaper (one for each student) as well as a teacher’s guide. Teachers also receive a mega-sized calendar poster of fun facts and tips and they have access to reproducible worksheets to supplement each issue.
You Can Help! For a $35 donation to All for Animals, an individual, civic group, or business can sponsor one classroom; each additional $35 will sponsor another classroom. (Parents and grandparents: Subscriptions make great gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, and birthdays!) Donors may select a specific classroom to receive a KIND News subscription or All for Animals can make the selection from our list of classrooms waiting to be adopted.
